Amnesty to Samsung boss !

Samsung's boss, who was imprisoned for 18 months, was amnesty. The reason why he was sentenced to prison was explained as bribing former South Korean president Park Geun-Hye. 

Jay Y. Lee, vice president of Samsung Electronics, who was sentenced to 18 months in prison for bribery, was placed on probation last year. The parole prohibited Lee from working for five years, while also limiting his overseas travel. However, due to the crisis, it seems that the government will grant a pardon to manager Lee.

South Korea's Ministry of Justice announced that Jay Y. Lee's past crimes will be erased with a presidential pardon on Monday. With the amnesty, the 54-year-old executive's criminal record, including his 2017 conviction, will be erased. The manager of Samsung, the country's largest company, will thus be able to take over the management again.

A South Korean government official believes that a special amnesty for business people who aim at national growth and investment in order to overcome the recent economic crises due to the pandemic will lessen the crisis for the country.

Lee, on the other hand, apologized to the people of South Korea for the crimes he committed for this special pardon.

Due to this special amnesty, it is expected that Samsung will accelerate the special chips and investments it produces.
