He also stated that he decided to close all institutions except the Tomb-i Åžerif and the museum belonging to the Sadr Group. In his post, Sadr said, "I declare that all institutions except the Holy Tomb, the museum, and the legacy of the honorable Sadr family have been closed. If I die or get killed, I wish you Fatiha and prayers."

As a result of the events in Baghdad, the Iranian government took action. Iran has closed its land borders with Iraq.
