Armament from Japan against China and Russia

Japan began to take up arms against China and Russia. It will produce advanced technology missiles. The Ministry of Defense of Japan begins the production of advanced technology missiles against the increasing dangers of war.

The fact that the Ministry has included an unprecedented supply of cruise and ballistic missiles in its newly announced budget is interpreted as a serious deviation from the pacification policy of Japan for years after the Second World War. 

In the statement made during the discussion of the annual budget of the ministry, it is stated that "China is trying to change the status quo in the region unilaterally by relying on its cooperation with Russia", and drawing attention to the pressure it puts on Taiwan in the form of routine military exercises, "There is a military effort to unite Taiwan with China. It is deduced that he did not stop using force”.

Japan does not have an advanced defense industry

Until now, only the units known as the Self-Defense Forces in the country were equipped with defensive equipment and training rather than attack. These units only have low-range missiles.

However, last month, China, which wanted to show strength during the visit of US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan, launched five long-range ballistic missiles to an area less than 160 kilometers from Japanese territorial waters.

Likewise, North Korea, which conducts missile tests at intervals in the region, is perceived by the Japanese Ministry of Defense as a threat to Japan, and it is understood that domestic missile production is planned against this country as well.

The ground-launched cruise missiles that the Ministry plans to develop will be an advanced version of the Type 12 missile currently produced and used by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.

This missile is used to attack ships. Another type of missile, high-speed ballistic missiles, can hit targets on the ground. In the new budget, the Ministry of Defense of Japan wants defense expenditures to increase by 3.6% to $40 billion. 

This figure will make Japan the country with the third largest defense spending in the world, after the United States and China. According to the news of the Asahi newspaper, the Ministry of Defense reported that in the future, it will allocate a budget for the production of hypersonic warheads and for cyber defense, electromagnetic warfare and space studies.

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said that Japan would significantly increase its defense power in order to maintain the security balance that deteriorated after Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
