Bitcoin Beach will make improvements from Infrastructure Investments

The beach is iconic for adopting bitcoin to create a circular economy in the region. These investments have initiated a new construction method so that tourists can benefit from the region better.

Chairman Nayib Bukele said the following about these investments: El Zonte for many is known as Bitcoin Beach; we are going to fix an area of 15,000 square meters, where there will be a shopping center, parking, beach club, and treatment plant, to revitalize the area.

In total, the government of El Salvador will spend more than $200 million on infrastructure, including a new drainage system, bridges, and bicycle roads, among other facilities.

Bitcoin and Surf Crucial for Salvadoran Tourism

This set of investments is in line with the government's earlier statements about the impact of surfing and bitcoin on the growth of national tourism. A recent report confirmed that El Salvador is on the list of countries that have increased their tourism revenues to pre-pandemic levels.

Bukele attributed this to three elements: the fight against gangs in the country, surfing, and bitcoin. Other officials of the El Salvador government also praised bitcoin as a catalyst for tourism growth this year. In April, El Salvador's tourism minister, Morena Valdez, stated that the adoption of bitcoin as legal tender has helped the industry grow by 30%.
