There have been new developments regarding who will direct Marvel's Fantastic Four movie, which is expected to be released in 2024. According to Deadline, the company is in talks with WandaVision director Matt Shakman to shoot the film.

The Fantastic Four, the superhero team in Marvel with a huge fan base worldwide, has been adapted for the big screen many times before. The first two films, released in 2005 and 2007 and shot by Tim Story, managed to take place in the hearts of Marvel fans, although not very well.

However, this series was canceled later, and another movie of the famous hero team was reshot in 2015 by a different team. This production, on the other hand, caused great disappointment in the fans, received very bad reviews from both the audience and the critics, and was canceled like the other series. Later, the rights of the characters were passed to Marvel Studios. After all this, it was officially announced that a Fantastic Four movie would be released in the MCU. Now there has been a development regarding the production.

Jon Watts, the name behind Spider-Man movies, would normally sit in the director's chair of the highly anticipated new movie. However, Watts announced in recent months that he will be leaving the project. Marvel President Kevin Feige also said at the San Diego Comics Fair, which was held recently, that they had not yet found a director to replace Watts.

Now, news shared by Deadline has revealed the name considered for the movie. Accordingly, Marvel is in talks with Matt Shakman, who also directed the MCU's popular series WandaVision, to shoot the new Fantastic Four movie. In addition, it is reported that the meeting was positive despite being in the early stages at the moment. Let's add that the rumors that Shakman, who has also been in productions such as The Boys and Game of Thrones, will direct the movie, have been circulating on the internet for a while.

There is no information about the cast of the Fantastic Four movie yet. As it is known, Marvel has accomplished what fans have wanted for years in the newly released Doctor Strange movie and introduced John Krasinski, whom we know from productions such as The Office and A Quite Place, as Reed Richards (Mister Fantastic). Although this revealed rumors that Krasinski could be in the new movie, later reports showed that the role in Doctor Strange was a one-time role, and contrary to expectations, the famous actor may not be in the new movie.
