Obama wins Emmy Award for Netflix documentary
Former American President Barack Obama received an Emmy Award for his narration in the Netflix documentary series Our Great National Parks.
Higher Ground, Obama's production company, produced a five-part documentary series about national parks around the world.
Having won the Grammy Award twice before, Obama is halfway through becoming "EGOT". EGOT: Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Awards are all four winners.
Obama also became the second American President to receive an Emmy Award.
Showcasing the natural beauties of five continents, the Netflix documentary features places like Patagonia in Chile and Indonesia.
Other nominees for Best Narrator included David Attenborough, Lupita Nyong'o, and Kareem Abdul-Cabbar.
After Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama, left office in 2017, they founded Higher Ground and made a multimillion-dollar deal with Netflix.
Obama also received two Grammy Awards for audio versions of his memoirs.
The other US President to receive an Emmy Award was Dwight Eisenhower, who held the first televised press conference in 1956.
Only 17 people have achieved EGOT status so far, including Mel Brooks, Whoopi Goldberg, Audrey Hepburn, and Jennifer Hudson.
